The geographical situation of the company’s head office
is ideal, being within easy reach of the major fruit ports
of Tilbury, Sheerness, Dover and Portsmouth. The main airports
of Gatwick and Heathrow are a short distance away and easily
accessed by the M25 London Orbital Link that is only 30
minutes drive from the company’s head office.
Originally formed in 1975 under the leadership of founder
and current chairman Richard Barnes the company has continued
to invest and prosper since that time. In 1983 Simon Lane,
the current Managing Director, joined the company and in
the following years Richard, Simon and their team expanded
the business to become today the leaders in fresh produce
marketing. Both Richard and Simon are still responsible
for the day to day trading activities of the company in
conjunction with the rest of the team. Offering
a nightly delivery service to all known destinations of
fresh produce via their cool chain distribution network,
the company prides itself on the quality of their product
lines, dealing only in the highest quality produce, packed
by specialist growers and to the customers’ individual
requirements. The quality of service and product makes the
company envied by their competitors. The Directors are consistently
monitoring the level of service so that it may be improved
upon in accordance with ever increasing demands of the industry
in which it operates.
